about me

I started this blog for several reasons. Firstly I think I have a major addiction to buying nail polishes, hair care products, make up and so on. As such I've bought a lot of good products and a fair few not so good products and figured it might be useful for other addicts like myself to have a blog where you can find out whether or not they're worth your money.
Secondly, it allows me to justify having an entire room dedicated to all things beauty related (plus a guitar and amp belonging to the bf - it seemed only fair).
Thirdly, I'm sick of buying products that look totally different on to how they look in the bottle etc, or that are all hype and no substance. I tend to prefer more high-end products, although I am starting to notice an improvement in high street products over the last couple of years.
And lastly, because I just love all things beauty related and writing about it is just another way for me to enjoy them.

So what makes me qualified to pass judgement on all these products. Nothing in particular. I'm just your average girl in her early twenties. I'm a geek, I'm obsessed with watching trashy American TV shows like The OC and Gossip Girl and I've never been to beauty school or anything like that. But I have tried a lot of products, read a lot of beauty magazines and made a lot of beauty mistakes, (the green hair, the inch thick layer of make up that is a teenage must, the failed attempts at liquid eye-liner.) We all know what works for us, and what looks good on us. We're all our own experts. But it can be nice to have a little guidance on what's worth our money and what's not, and a little inspiration on what we could treat ourselves to next. So if nothing else, I hope some of my posts inspire you to try a new colour of polish or new product, and save you wasting your money on something that doesn't live up to its hype.
Obviously, these are only my opinions and are based on my own personal experiences of products.
